Matt is a North Texas native who served in the United States Marine Corps from 2002 - 2008. A machine gunner by trade, Matt was utilized in many other capacities including infantry team leader, 3rd Battalion 8th Marines' Scout Sniper Platoon, a member of Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC), and participated in multiple governmental Protective Service Details. Matt deployed at total of four times to include Port Au Prince Haiti, Fallujah Iraq, Ramadi Iraq, and Helmand Provence Afghanistan. 

Following his military service Matt spent over a decade in public service as both a paramedic and field training officer. During that time he had the opportunity to work in all facets of Emergency Medicine to include Inner city and rural EMS, as well as multiple Emergency Departments in the city of Dallas. 

Matt is a competitive shooter in USPSA in both production and carry optics divisions as well as a jiu-jitsu instructor and currently holds the rank of third degree blue belt.
